Here it is almost January and 2017! Everyone is probably busy getting ready for camps, holidays, and bringing in the new year. But if you have a few minutes, please enjoy a quick journey through our November!
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="561"] Had a friend over to help me make peach jam. I didn't know that most people puree their peaches so I was a little insecure about it being 'weird' but everyone says it is delicious so my cook confidence returned a little! Thanks Leah for the lovely time and help![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="489"] This is at Matthew's work on Camp San Luis Obispo. The setting sun was reflecting of this cloud so pretty![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="321"] This granola bar recipe has been a treasure! The original is great, but I've changed it so many times, I can't remember the first time I made them! These are mine, so extra healthy with all the things that are super good for me![/caption]
I think this was a Saturday afternoon. We hiked Cerro Alto. It kinda cracked me up when I thought about how we used to hike. When we first got married, a 4 mile hike was a big deal, pack the backpack, snacks, fill the Camelbak with water, plan fit, schedule it... Now it is "grab a water bottle and let's go hike a mountain!"
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="403"] Oh dear, a profile! And it kinda looks like I was breathing hard.... or maybe the beautiful green scenery was just taking away my breath![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="333"] Cute white mushrooms! Does anyone know what variety?[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Me attempting to be artistic with my photography using my 'new' iPhone 6[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] We LIVE here?![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="480"] Cerro Alto, always worth the hike![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="511"] Aunty Beth reading to Hailey and 'Ashley'.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="323"] Austin enjoying some uncle time with a snuggly Brealynn[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="360"] spinning with Baby. Look at those precious curls![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="480"] My beautiful sister-in-law! Sarah Beth turned 18 in November. She has been a huge blessing and friend to me - I'm so thankful for our relationship! Most of all, I rejoice in and am inspired by her growing relationship with God while being a wonderfully imperfect human being! May God bless your 18th year sis![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="443"] Matthew and I assisted mom and dad in hosting the young people for her party. They ate, played some games, and ate some more![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Enjoying some fall colors![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="278"] Feeling healthy with a homemade berry upbeet smoothie![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="335"] Yeah, so this is a little weird! In an attempt to get some answers to my skin and digestion problems, I went to an allergist specialist. We did some extensive blood testing and these patches to test for contact allergies. Thankfully it didn't take long or much money to find out I have no allergies. BUT, she then had no clue what to tell me. (Story to be continued next month!)[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500"] The weather has finally turned chilly and one way to stay warm at work is to cuddle up to the oven after the baking is finished![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Haha! Matthew is a little creepy looking in this selfie! We took Sarah Beth to Beuna Tavola, a nice Italian restaurant downtown SLO, for her birthday.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="293"] I thought this picture turned out quite cool, besides capturing something that I think it really neat. Matthew has created a morning routine for himself over the last year that usually includes stretching, Scripture reading, journalling, coffee, and the news. Sometimes he also runs or does a workout. I really respect him for creating this great habit. I feel like it has really made a difference in his day even though it means less sleep.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="528"] Dad, Mom, and Sarah Beth got to drive to WA to visit the Jorgensen grandparents over Thanksgiving. We missed them but got to have plenty of quality time with this dude.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="308"] He even invited us and some other friends over for dinner! Way to go bro![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="317"] Some of Matthew's latte art attempts! He is trying so hard and I think that is really fun! One evening he decided to make a latte (usually he just has an americano). After all the prep and carefully steaming the milk, tamping the espresso, pulling the shot, and pouring the milk, he snapped this picture. Then, satisfied with his hard work and the world in general, he went to sit down on the chair that was behind him... Except that the chair was 3 feet behind him! As he sat into mid air, arms flailing, cappuccino flying, I ungraciously burst into hysterical laughter! Thankfully he was okay and good naturally was able to laugh as well. Still wiping espresso off the walls... :)[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="405"] I worked until noon on Thanksgiving day while Matthew did a 'Turkey Trot' in Avila with some friends. He busted out a good 5K and sent me this selfie of his dashing self.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] For some reason I can't recall when or where this was... OH! it is from Terrace Hill. David and Lauren invited a bunch of couples and young families for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a LOVELY time and so good to see Dave and Jen again! We miss them so much, but had fun hearing about their adventures in AZ. Some hiked to Terrace to wear off their turkey (or extra roll). Matthew enjoyed the hike while I shivered inside by the fire with my coat on infecting everyone with a really bad cold. I had a fever of 101 when we got home. Sorry everyone![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="451"] Sometimes Matthew feels like cooking! I love it. Hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, and hot cocoa anyone? Invite yourself over for Saturday breakfast. Only thing is, you might be roped into going for a run beforehand![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] And that's November![/caption]
